BROADcast: Academy String Quartet: “Friends of Ukraine, Too”

  • Sewickley United Methodist Church 337 Broad Street Sewickley, PA, 15143 United States (map)

The Charles Wesley Music Foundation is pleased to welcome the Academy String Quartet back to the BROADcast Concert Series with Friends of Ukraine, Too, a moving program that celebrates friendship, cultural connection, and the enduring power of music.

Featuring works by Joseph Haydn, Paul Hindemith, Grażyna Bacewicz, Borys Lyatoshynsky, and other composers, the program explores how music transcends borders and generations. Alongside beloved works from the classical repertoire, audiences will discover music by composers whose voices deserve greater recognition, offering fresh perspectives and a deeper appreciation for the richness of Eastern European musical traditions.

More than a concert, Friends of Ukraine, Too is an invitation to listen with curiosity and openness. Through music that reflects resilience, beauty, and shared humanity, the Academy String Quartet demonstrates how art can build understanding and bring people together across cultures.

Whether you are a lifelong lover of chamber music or attending your very first string quartet performance, this evening promises an engaging and inspiring experience in an intimate setting.

The BROADcast Concert Series is dedicated to making exceptional live music accessible to everyone while creating opportunities for our community to discover remarkable artists and repertoire. We invite you to join us for an unforgettable evening of music, conversation, and connection.

Admission is free and open to the public. Donations are gratefully accepted to support future community concerts presented by the Charles Wesley Music Foundation.
